Happy New Year- A Challenge to the Creepy Kitch Girls? Perhaps?

The new year is upon us! More creepy shit awaits! And Stac has proved to us that she is indeed alive and NOT held up in a bunker wearing a ski mask and torturing men for money.
...or IS she?

Anyways, I figured I'd toss out this friendly challenge to my partner in crime, Stac...which I hope she will take...if for anything for comedy's sake. In an attempt to keep us short attention spanned ladies going on the blog front I've decided to do a horror film a week to review on the blog. This is mostly because I realized how many dang movies I've missed lately. And I'm hoping that maybe, JUST maybe Stac will be willing to join me on this.

I also want to put a proposal out to Stac...which I will probably regret as soon as I say it....I think we should pick out each other's films.

So Stac...you up to this?

Or will these be our faces after we deside this is a good idea?

Also, dear awesome readers from the interwebs, do you have any films you'd recommend to us? I'm looking for some good ones so lay 'em on me!

Also, after a little more discussion time, Stac and I may or may not have some interesting and exciting news about the future of this blog. It all depends on if we are slackers or not in 2010.

Happy New Year, All!

Bwahahahaha! NIIIIICE tag! Bring it ON, woman! You think Ghoulies IV was the worst of my arsenal?

I think we should notch it up a bit and give themes to look for, like why we like it personally. An example: "You're watching A Nightmare on Elm Street 2! Look for the blatant themes of a young man dealing with his own homosexuality!"

And I'm definitely still on for our "special project"!

Hmm. The only film that is coming to mind that I'm not sure either of you two have seen is Tokyo Zombie. I heard about it from a horror podcast that I stopped listening to but haven't had a chance to see it. Given your love of zombies, it might be right up your ally.

Actually Nojh, I miiiight have that one..? I'll have to check when I get home.

Stac> Maw hahaha! Yes YEEEES! I'll regret it later I'm sure but YEEEES!!!
This is mostly a ploy to get you to watch Paranormal Activity now that it's out on DVD.;D

And Awesome! I shall email you about it this week...and CC poor poor Mike.

Nojh>> never saw it...I believe it will have to go on the list!

For some reason the first movie that I was able to think of was Dead Calm. (I can't remember his name, but was it Sam Niell? The one who ended up in Jurassic Park.) I've already suggested Evil Aliens to Stac, so that's done. The only other thing I might suggest, in general, is that I would love to see your take on some classic horror/monster movies. Stuff along the lines of the original Frankenstein, or Creature from the Black Lagoon. The classic iconic stuff. Please? :)

Chris: sounds good to me, I love that stuff! In fact, that gives me something for Cins' list!

Chris>>OOH! Dead Calm! I LOVE that movie!! Its so friggin' suspenseful! And Billy Zane is so damn evil in it...and hot..evil and hot.
I've been wanting to dive into the classic realm lately. A couple of friends have given be a few box sets of old B&W classics for Christmas. I should delve into them.:)

I think "Jennifer's Body" is on DVD now. I've heard mixed things about it, but in theory it might be fun, since it's sort of campy. I think.

The only hard part is determining what you girls have and haven't seen (in case you didn't review or talk about said titles on the blog). Judging by a few searches of your blog, I have two suggestions: Awake & Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer (both 2008 releases).

I have many more suggestions, of course, but these are two that I enjoyed more than I expected to. I'd like to see your opinions on them.

CheesyRoy>>The MST version or the NON MST version? ;D

Matt>>I have not seen either actually. And I do have Jack Brooks: Monster Slayer on my Insta-Cue already.:)
Was Awake the movie with Hayden Christiansen in it or am I thinking of something COMPLETELY different?

@Cins No, you're right, Awake is the film you're thinking of :)

It is a scary premise to think about... makes you worry about ever having to have surgery. It's perhaps more of a suspense-thriller than Horror, but it's still very well done.

@Cins both LOL.
